Settled Case:  Slip and Fall behind a Hotel Settled

In this case our client was staying at a hotel because his home had some repair work being done to it.  There was bad weather during the time he was staying at the hotel as this was during the winter months.  He was walking out of the back of the hotel to get to his car.  The walkway was entirely covered in ice.  As he was walking he slipped and fell and badly injured his leg.  Since this was a black ice scenario we made the argument that he hotel was responsible for salting this area since they were well aware that their patrons uses this walkway frequently.  We also argued that they certainly should have known about this condition due to the weather conditions in the prior days.  We provided copies of the weather reports for that area to prove our argument.  They argued that given the winter weather conditions our client should have been aware of the potential for ice and snow in this location.
