Settlement in Landlord Case: Client fall causes serious injury

Our Michigan personal injury attorneys recently settled a premises liability case in which a client sustained a large subdural hematoma, had a frontal craniotomy and was later confined to a nursing home. As a result of her fall, she now has a legal guardian, and can no longer be responsible for her own affairs.  The suit contended that the prior owner had never made appropriate repairs to the stairway where she fell.

Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly recently featured attorney successful resolution of a premises liability case for for a woman who was horribly injured in a fall in a neglected rental home.

We showed showed that no repairs had been made on the property for a decade. The client was badly hurt when a stairway railing gave way, causing her to fall. She was later confined to a nursing home due to her injuries sustained in the accident. We resolved the case for $275,000 and obtained a significant reduction in her Medicare lien.

  • Dear Mr. Mindell,
Your slogan states: “Experience Dedication Success”. I believe in my heart, strongly added to that should have been, “Honest Fair Integrity”. For those are the finest principles in you, and that was my experience of what you most importantly instilled and guide your practice on. Thank you so much. I do so respect you.
